Who is this big player
in the End Times Events? He is a Counterfeit of Jesus Christ ...
He is most often referred to as the Antichrist!
The word "Anti-Christ" itself is commonly misunderstood. The prefix
"anti" comes from the Greek language and has two meanings:
- Opposed to; and
- In the place of or a substitute for.
The Antichrist will not
only "oppose" Christ but he will do it in the most sinister way ... by
pretending to BE CHRIST!
"... Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God,
or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God,
shewing himself that he is God." 2
Thessalonians 2:4 (KJV)
This man will come on the scene
appearing to have all the answers. He will not have horns and a pitch fork
as many suppose ... but instead he will probably be a very charismatic,
appealing world leader offering peace and prosperity.
The Bible says he "by peace shall destroy many"
"And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are
come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark
sentences, shall stand up. And his power shall be mighty, but not by his
own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and
practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. And through
his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall
magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall
also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken
without hand." Daniel
8:23-25 (KJV)
Before this wicked man reveals his true colors he will deceive many!
Do you know the profile of the most vile man who is to come? Let's
look at what God's Word has to say about him ...

:: The People of the
Prince
In Daniel
9:26-27 we read; "...the People of the Prince that Shall Come
would destroy the city and the sanctuary..."
The City = Jerusalem The Sanctuary = The Temple
The fulfillment of this occurred in history when the Roman legions
under Titus Vespasian destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 A.D.
Jesus warned them about this; "For the days shall come upon
thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee
round, and keep thee in on every side, And shall lay thee even with the
ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one
stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy
visitation." Luke 19:43-44
(KJV)
Interesting to note ... this prophecy was fulfilled on the 9th of Av
on the Jewish Calendar... This is the same exact day that the First
Temple was also destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar. Jeremiah
52:12-15 ... Needless to say this is a most solemn day
in Israel's history.
This reference to 'the Romans' in Daniel
9:26 is one of the reasons that most Bible scholars view the future
Prince that shall come as a Roman or European leader coming out of the
"Revived Roman Empire".
* See also: AntiChrist - The
Alternate Ending - from Koinonia House (new & very interesting!)
"One of the dominant topics among prophecy buffs is the identity
of the coming leader, whom we call "the Antichrist." We know from Daniel
9 that he will emerge out of the Roman Empire, which we often presume is
Western Europe. ... However, we may have been subject to myopia by
overlooking an important fact. The Roman Empire had an eastern leg that,
in fact, survived the western leg by a thousand years!"
:: The Restrainer
"For the mystery of
lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until
he is taken out of the way." 2
Thessalonians 2:7 (KJV)
We believe the Antichrist
cannot even be revealed while the Church is present. (For more
info on the Restrainer see: Rapture: Pre, Mid or Post
Trib?)
After the Restrainer is
'snatched out' (Raptured) The antichrist will rise to
power... maybe immediately, or maybe after a period of time...
Many assume the "Rapture" itself starts the seven year period known as
the Tribulation. However it is the "Confirming of the Covenant"
with this antichrist which kick starts this time period, according
to Daniel
9:27
"And he shall confirm the
covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall
cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading
of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation,
and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate." Daniel
9:27
Since it is the confirming of this covenant that starts the Tribulation
and not the Rapture itself ... it is possible that there
may be a interval between the two. (See Also: Rapture: Pre, Mid or Post
Trib?)
:: Let's Build Us A
Temple!
In Israel a third Jewish temple will be
rebuilt; Daniel
11:31 ... 2
Thessalonians 2:4 ... Antichrist may be the one who gives
the actual go ahead to finally build their long awaited Temple.
The Jews will resume their sacrifices ... Many may think
their Messiah has come!
"I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another
shall come in his own name, him ye will receive." John 5:43
The Antichrist will surely be the one - the man with the plan -
that comes forward with the solution that will FINALLY appear to
bring "Peace & Safety" to the Middle East Conflict. However it will be
a false, temporary peace.
"For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction
cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not
escape." 1
Thessalonians 5:3 (KJV)
"Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule
this people which is in Jerusalem. Because ye have said, We have made a
covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the
overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we
have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves"
Isaiah
28:14-15 (KJV)
Antichrist will turn on them and break the covenant (peace agreement?)
half way through the Tribulation period "... he shall cause the
sacrifice and the oblation to cease.." Daniel
9:27
They are then warned in advance (by their true Messiah Yeshua in Matthew
24:15-21) that when they see the Abomination of Desolation stand in
the Holy Place they are to flee to the mountains.
"When ye therefore shall see
the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in
the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which
be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not
come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in
the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with
child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your
flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be
great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to
this time, no, nor ever shall be." Matthew
24:15-21 (KJV)
We are told that the
Abomination of Desolation, occurs; "... in the midst of
the week..." (7 year Tribulation) Daniel
9:27
The "week" mentioned in this prophecy is a "week of
years" These are Sabbatical years ... The Sabbath for the land was
ordained in: Leviticus
25:1-22, 26:33-35
... Deuteronomy
15 ... It was the failure to keep the Sabbath of the land
that was the basis of the 70 years of Captivity.
Seventy Sevens - as we see in Daniel's prophecy: Daniel
9:24-27 imply these same weeks of years. (Another example of this
appears in; Genesis
29:27 et al.)
From the Abomination of Desolation, we are then told in precise
detail the amount of time that remains until the the end of the
Tribulation and the Second Coming of Christ ... (*Note: Remember the
Second Coming of Christ and the Rapture are two separate events ... See
Also; Rapture: Pre, Mid, Post
Trib?)
The Bible clearly defines this remaining time period:
:: Mortal Wound
At the Mid-Point of the
Tribulation, it seems the Antichrist receives some sort of deadly wound -
which will appear to have been healed.
"And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his
deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast."
Revelation
13:3 (KJV)
There is alot of speculation as to what that means exactly ...
Will he appear to have died and fake a resurrection to mimic Jesus'
resurrection?
We believe it would have to be a fake death as Satan does not have
the power to give Life. However, he could deceive in this way.
Many believe at this point Satan literally Indwells the
Antichrist for the remainder of the Tribulation!
Others believe this 'Mortal Wound being Healed' refers to the
Revived Roman Empire and not to a literal wound on the Antichrist
himself. It could be both.
:: The Dastardly Duo
"And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to
overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and
nations." Revelation
13:7 (KJV)
The ANTICHRIST ... will
not only be empowered by Satan himself But he will also have a
sidekick ...
The FALSE PROPHET ... This False Prophet will have supernatural
powers Of course, these powers are Evil.
This following verses tell us more about the very important role of the
2nd Beast or False Prophet:
"And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had
two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the
power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which
dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from
heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on
the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the
sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they
should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did
live.
And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the
image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not
worship the image of the beast should be killed." Revelation
13:11-15 (KJV)
The False Prophet will require ALL to worship the Antichrist or pay the
price!
"And he causeth all, both
small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their
right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save
he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the
beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred
threescore and six." Revelation
13:16-18 (KJV)
This is where we get the infamous 6 6 6
:: Their Numbers Up!
"And then shall that Wicked
be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and
shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is
after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying
wonders..." 2
Thessalonians 2:8-9 (KJV)
"And the beast was taken, and
with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he
deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that
worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire
burning with brimstone." Revelation
19:20
"And the devil who
deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the
beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be
tormented day and night forever and ever" Revelation
20:10
The origin & fall of Satan is described in; :: Isaiah
14:12-17 :: Ezekiel
28:12-19
:: Whose Side Are You
On?
Whose side do you want to be on?
Don't wait until it's too late.
If you hear and understand the truth NOW and refuse to accept it
and act upon it ... There is no guarantee you will get a second chance ...
and to be quite honest ... according to Thessalonians you are very likely
be deceived later for having ignored the truth.
"And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should
believe a lie.." 2
Thessalonians 2:10-11 (KJV)
The bottom line here is this: Those who chose the Antichrist will
LOSE! Those who chose Jesus Christ have ALREADY WON! There is NO
contest ...
