Saudis Forewarn Seizure Of Bibles From Tourists
Despite increased efforts at bolstering tourism to the
desert kingdom, Saudi Arabia persists in forbidding visitors from
bringing such items as Bibles, crucifixes and Stars of David
into the country and insists it will take them away from
tourists. “A number of items are not allowed to be brought into the
kingdom due to religious reasons and local regulations,” Saudi
Arabian Airlines confirmed to The Jerusalem Post. These
items are included in a list also forbidding narcotics, firearms,
and pornography. An envoy at the Saudi Consulate in New York
asked to explain the policy said, “Every country has rules about
what can and cannot enter.”
